Driver Qualification Specialist

Position Summary
The Driver Qualification Specialist is responsible for ensuring CPG drivers and equipment meet all DOT, FMCSA, and CPG compliance standards from onboarding through ongoing operations. This role owns the auditing and activation of driver qualification files, drives accurate data entry into dispatch and third-party systems, and partners closely with Recruiting, Safety, and Terminal Operations to keep a compliant, ready-to-work driver workforce on the road.
Driver Qualification File Management
• Audit driver qualification files prior to onboarding for DOT and CPG compliance approval; partner with Recruiters to complete corrections and ensure file accuracy for compliance and safety review.
• Post-audit driver qualification files to confirm ongoing accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
• Review activated files for 30-day compliance and work with Recruiters to complete any outstanding requirements.
Driver & Equipment Activation
• Activate drivers into the dispatch system and applicable third-party platforms.
• Data enter qualified drivers and units into the dispatch system.
• Data enter information into third-party systems, including fuel, UIIA, Supervision, and PTP/Gate Card.
• Ensure HOS (Hours of Service) equipment installation is complete and drive-line verification has been performed; release holds for dispatch once requirements are met.
Communication & Notifications
• Send activation notices to all relevant departments once a driver is activated in the dispatch system.
• Send setup emails to relevant teams (Insurance, Account Setup, JJK, etc.) to complete the activation workflow.
Daily Operations Support
• Answer inbound calls and fill in across the team where needed.
• Complete system work for truck switches, driver swaps, and site changes.
Deactivations
• Process Independent Contractor (IC) and truck deactivations, removing drivers and equipment from all applicable systems.
Cross-Functional Compliance
• Partner with Corporate Safety, Field Safety, Terminal Operations, and Recruiting to ensure ongoing compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and CPG standards.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in driver qualification, DOT/FMCSA compliance, transportation or trucking operations, recruiting coordination, or a closely related field.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree, certification, or coursework (e.g., transportation, compliance, business administration) preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations as they apply to driver and vehicle qualifications preferred.
